Cirrus large area seed drill

Overview

Großflächen-Sämaschine Cirrus

Low power requirement and easy towing for fuel saving operation are the important features of these trailed mulch drill combinations.

For the perfect contour adaptation and an optimum operation, depending on soil type and working speed, there are three models in the Cirrus range to choose from:

At the heart of the Cirrus Special is the RoTeC or RoTeC+ coulter. With a disc diameter of either 320 or 400 mm, and a infinitely variable coulter pressure of up to 35 kg or 50 kg that can be set from the tractor seat,  a smooth coulter run is ensured with precise seed placement even at high operational speeds and the perfect seed/soil contact. The 800 mm diameter wedge ring tyres running in front of the coulters provide re-consolidation in strips; just in the seeding area. Upfront of the combination are two rows of disc gangs that provide the seedbed preparation which, for convenience, again are depth adjustable on the move. Thanks to the slender seed tank, the driver's view of the cultivation discs is completely unobstructed and the large opening of the seed hopper makes for easy filling. The Cirrus Special is offered in working widths of 3, 4 and 6 metres.

The Cirrus Super seed drill is designed for higher acreage outputs with little demand from the intensity of any previous soil tillage. The feature of the Cirrus Super is the PacTeC coulter where four 400 mm Boron steel discs are guided on each one of the large 800 mm press rollers. These wedge ring rollers compensate individually to follow the ground contours and carry the entire seed drill, re-consoliding and levelling the seedbed in front of the coulters and ensuring an accurate sowing depth. The guided fixing of the coulters to each wedge ring tyre results in an extremely smooth coulter run. The Cirrus Super is available in working widths of either 4 or 6 metres with both models folding to 3m for road transport. Of course, road lighting is standard and either hydraulic or air brakes provide adequate stopping power for the complete drill combination without relying solely on the tractor's braking system.

Last, but not least in the Cirrus range, the Cirrus Activ sowing combination is also on offer. Here, instead of the 2-stagger disc cultivator unit found in the Cirrus Super and Special, on the Cirrus Activ a rotary cultivator is used for seedbed preparation. Still maintaining that Amazone principle - roll first, then sow - the pre-running wedge ring tyres on the Cirrus Activ again carry out the targeted re-consolidation in strips. Compared with the two other models in the Cirrus series, on the Activ version, the diameter of the wedge ring tyres is increased from 800 mm to 1050 mm to enable the tyre packer to easily carry the weight of the combination and help ensure an easy, fuel saving pull.  On the Cirrus Activ the RoTeC+ coulters provide the precise seed placement. The 400 mm diameter discs in conjunction with the adjustable coulter pressure of up to 50 kg/coulter ensures an extremely smooth culter run. The Cirrus Activ is available in 6 m working width and for the maximum work rtaes a pulling power from 250 HP should be utilised. Operational speeds are within the mid range of 12 to 15 km/h.

With its short wheelbase length and tracking drawbar system the Cirrus range offers a easy to use, highly manoeuvrable unit for tight turns and compact headlands and thus, maximum flexility for increased work rates and at the same time, the best in germination.
